Dixel
Dixel is a native Android pixel-art editor. It is built for drawing and editing pixel art directly on your Android device, with a layout that adapts to the screen in front of you.
What Dixel is
- A focused pixel-art editor, not a general-purpose drawing app.
- Local-first: your work is stored in
.dxlproject files on your device. - Built around the tools pixel artists actually use — pencil and eraser, bucket fill, lines and shapes, selections, layers, palettes, and transforms.
Supported Android form factors
Dixel adapts its layout to the device:
- Phones — the canvas fills the screen, tools sit on one edge, and a single bottom panel tabs between Palette, Layers, and Options.
- Tablets and unfolded foldables — floating, draggable panels for palette, layers, and tool options sit on top of a full-screen canvas.
Stylus input is supported as a touch device, so a pen works wherever a finger does. Pressure sensitivity is not part of this version.
Where to go next
- Getting started — create your first project, draw, and export.
- Projects and privacy — how
.dxlfiles are stored and what stays on your device. - Privacy policy — the formal policy.
