Dixel

Dixel is a native Android pixel-art editor. It is built for drawing and editing pixel art directly on your Android device, with a layout that adapts to the screen in front of you.

What Dixel is

  • A focused pixel-art editor, not a general-purpose drawing app.
  • Local-first: your work is stored in .dxl project files on your device.
  • Built around the tools pixel artists actually use — pencil and eraser, bucket fill, lines and shapes, selections, layers, palettes, and transforms.

Supported Android form factors

Dixel adapts its layout to the device:

  • Phones — the canvas fills the screen, tools sit on one edge, and a single bottom panel tabs between Palette, Layers, and Options.
  • Tablets and unfolded foldables — floating, draggable panels for palette, layers, and tool options sit on top of a full-screen canvas.

Stylus input is supported as a touch device, so a pen works wherever a finger does. Pressure sensitivity is not part of this version.
