Dixel 0.0.12: round brush tips and shading ink
Dixel 0.0.12 is about shaping strokes: choose a round or square brush tip, shade with a new ink tool, and undo with one tap.
Round and square brush tips
The Pencil and the Eraser now have a Shape option in the tool gear. Pick a square tip for the classic blocky look, or a round tip for the soft, circular edge most editors use for shading. Round is the default. The two chips show the shape itself — a filled square, and a circle drawn inside that same square, which is exactly what the round tip is: the disc inside the brush box.
Round and square look identical at very small sizes; the round tip starts to show its curve from size 4 and up. Your choice is remembered between sessions.
Shading ink
The new Shading ink tool does not paint the current color. Instead it shifts each pixel you touch one shade along a color ramp — darker or lighter. Choose Darken or Lighten in the tool gear, and use the whole palette or a range you pick as the ramp. Each pixel steps one shade per stroke, and the ends clamp, so highlights and shadows stay in your palette. Your ramp is remembered per palette.
Single-tap undo, and an Eraser fix
Undo is now a single two-finger tap, matching Pixquare; redo is still a single three-finger tap. And the Eraser now respects Alpha lock: on an alpha-locked layer it makes no change, as the lock intends.
The full list is on the changelog.
Thanks for drawing with Dixel. More to come.
